Biography

Amy H. Koltz, J.D. is Executive Director and Mediator for the Wisconsin Foreclosure Mediation Network and the Metro Milwaukee Foreclosure Mediation Program (MMFMP).   These programs are administered through the non-profit entity, Metro Milwaukee Mediation Services, Inc., of which Koltz is President.  Since 2003 she has been engaged in dispute resolution program design and administration, working closely with case management software developers to implement streamlined processes utilizing cutting edge technology.

Ms. Koltz manages day-to-day operations of MMFMP, including overseeing daily support staff, student interns and volunteers; developing and implementing process improvements; and serving as a resource on policy and procedures for MMFMP support persons, program participants and coordinators of foreclosure mediation programs in counties throughout the state as part of the Wisconsin Foreclosure Mediation Network.  In addition, Ms. Koltz has mediated hundreds of cases through the program.

Prior to joining MMFMP in July 2009, known at that time as the Milwaukee Foreclosure Mediation Program (MFMP) administered through Marquette University Law School, Ms. Koltz served as Manager of Process and Compliance for DeMars & Associates, Ltd.  In that role, she ensured compliance with state and federal guidelines regulating consumer dispute resolution programs,she trained and managed a nationwide roster of mediators and arbitrators, and she engaged in consumer dispute resolution systems design and administration for clients including eBay, Winnebago Industries, Porsche Cars North America and 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty.  She mediated warranty disputes between consumers and Big Dog Motorcycles, LLC and directed a team of three staff-members mediating warranty disputes between consumers and Ford Motor Company.

As an Adjunct Professor at Marquette University Law School, Ms. Koltz teaches Mediation Advocacy and Interviewing and Counseling.  She is a Roster Mediator for the Mortgage Modification Mediation Program through the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bankruptcy Court and Western District of Wisconsin Bankruptcy Court.  Ms. Koltz is a Past-Chairperson of the Wisconsin State Bar's Dispute Resolution Section Board, served as a Board Member from 2004 to 2012, taking a brief hiatus due to term limits, but returning to the Board following the 2014 election.

Ms. Koltz earned a B.A. from The College of William and Mary in 1998 and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 2003. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Marquette University in 2004.
